What’s it like to star in the This Morning Audience Award nominated Wicked? It’s all green make-up, big note practice, broomstick maintenance and feeding the flying monkeys, isn’t it?
That’s what you might think, but while greenifying is definitely on the agenda of current Elphaba Emma Hatton as is looking after her voice so it’s in perfect shape to hit those character-defining notes there’s also more tea drinking than you’d imagine of a powerful sorceress, enough shopping to suggest that maybe there’s more to Elphie’s colour palette than black and a trip to a rather exclusive party.
The star of the hit Oz-set show, which tells a tale about how the so called Wicked Witch of the West became quite so misunderstood, charted a day in her West End life in pictures, giving us a magical trip behind the scenes of the enchanting show.

Today I’m heading to a photo shoot for the Olivier nominees. My hair fell victim to the wind but at least it’s sunny!
Get into work and spend a bit of time reading and replying to some lovely letters from fans. With a cuppa of course!

Another tea break! This time it’s Manuka honey and ginger which is good for keeping my voice in great shape.
After warm up, it’s time to finish getting ready with a quick brush of my pearly whites!
Meet Bertha…my affectionately named nebuliser. These little devices have become quite popular with green girls as they keep the voice hydrated. A quick puff on this before I go on stage and I’m set!
