History

The Royal Festival Hall is a world-famous venue located on the banks of the River Thames, at the heart of London’s Southbank Centre.

Opened in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain, the Grade I listed Hall is also one of the world’s leading performance venues. Situated just off Hungerford Bridge in the London Borough of Lambeth, the auditorium has a fixed raked seating capacity of 2,500.

As well as the auditorium, the Royal Festival Hall complex contains The Clore Ballroom, The Poetry Library, Spirit Level (including Blue, White and Yellow Rooms), Southbank Centre Shop, Riverside Terrace Cafe, Central Bar and Skylon restaurant, so there are plenty of places to eat, drink and shop before or after seeing a show.
