The Menier Chocolate Factory is an 180 seat off-West End theatre, known for producing a mixture of musical and play revivals, new writing and comedy. The theatre comprises a restaurant, bar and rehearsal rooms.
It gets it’s name from the location – housed in a former 1870s Menier Chocolate Company factory in Southwark Street, central south London.
In 2010, the Chocolate Factory’s productions of A Little Night Music and La Cage aux Folles opened on Broadway, the former starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury and the latter starring Douglas Hodge and Kelsey Grammer. At the 2010 Tony Awards the shows won: Best Leading Actress in a Musical; Best Leading Actor in a Musical; Best Director of a Musical; Best Musical Revival – La Cage aux Folles.
