Yes, Prime Minister is written by Jonathan Lynn and Antony Jay, the writing team that brought the sitcom, and its predecessor Yes, Minister, to TV screens.

Goodman, who plays Appleby in Yes, Prime Minister, was recently seen in the West End opposite Juliet Stevenson in Duet For One and exercising his singing voice in musical Fiddler On The Roof. He is a two-time Laurence Olivier Award winner, collecting the coveted statuette for his performances in Assassins (1993) and The Merchant Of Venice (2000).

Haig is also a Laurence Olivier Award winner, having collected the award for Actor of the Year in a New Play in 1988 for his performance in Our Country’s Good. The actor, whose screen performances include The Thin Blue Line, My Boy Jack, Four Weddings And A Funeral and The Thick Of It, plays Hacker in Yes, Prime Minister.
