Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin play George and Martha, a couple who have been married for 23 years, in Edward Albee’s acidic dark comedy. When Nick, a new member of staff at the college where George works, and his wife Honey pop round to George and Martha’s for drinks, the evening does not go quite as expected. In fact, it devolves into an alcohol-fuelled verbal war as both couple, led by the sharp-tongued Martha, get particularly spiteful as the cracks in the relationships start to show.

The Broadway cast, each of whom were Tony nominated for their performance in Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf, transfers with this production.

Kathleen Turner, whose last London stage appearance came in the 2001 production of The Graduate, is possibly best known for her film performances which include, Romancing The Stone, The Jewel Of The Nile, The War Of The Roses and Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
