Set on an evening that should be delightful, Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? is a darkly comic play telling the tale of a cocktail party that turns sour.
George and Martha, who have been married for 23 years, have Nick, the newest member of the faculty of George’s college, and his wife Honey, over for drinks. Yet an evening of merriment among new friends is not what they get; instead the party slumps into an alcohol-fuelled war of words as the sharp-tongued Martha loosens her shackles.
Matthew Kelly leads the cast of Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? as George. Possibly best know for his career in light entertainment, presenting shows including You Bet!, Stars In Their Eyes and Game For Laugh, he is also a Laurence Olivier Award-winning actor, collecting the honour for his performance in Of Mice And Men.
