Based on a true account, Who Will Carry The Word? tells the story of a group of female prisoners who befriend one another in extraordinary circumstances in order to survive in a landscape of chaos and terror. Beaten, bruised, starved and tattooed, it follows the poignant story of Francoise who, at breaking point, decides to take her own life. When fellow prisoner Claire hears of this, she convinces Francoise to carry on for everyone’s sake.

The play is the story of how one women’s struggle becomes a groups unanimous belief that they must carry on and that their compelling story must be told despite inevitable sacrifice.
