What You Will sees Olivier Award-winner Roger Rees take a hilarious 90-minute gallop through all things Shakespearean.
The one-man show from the Royal Shakespeare Company Associate Artist takes an irreverent look at all things Bard-related, from the greatest soliloquies ever written to accounts of disastrous goings on on stage. Amid Rees’ performance, Juliet’s nurse, Macbeth, Hamlet and Richard II rub shoulders with Charles Dickens, Noel Coward and even Stevie Wonder.
A veteran of 22 years with the RSC, in which he played Hamlet, Berowne, Roderigo and Claudio among many others, in What You Will Rees relives the struggles and amusements of his formative years as an actor weaving together tales of heartbreak, triumphs, jokes and mishaps that he, and every other actor that ever trod the boards, have encountered when performing Shakespeare’s famous plays.
In addition to his work with the RSC, Rees starred in the original productions of Stoppard’s The Real Thing and Hapgood. On screen his films have included Robin Hood: Men In Tights, The Scorpion King and The Pink Panther, while he has appeared in TV shows including The West Wing, Cheers, Grey’s Anatomy and My So-Called Life.
