The European premiere of Jackie Sibblies Drury’s hit We Are Proud To Present… follows actors telling a tale of genocide that brings the past horrifically into the present.

The performers are gathered together to tell a barely known tale about the first genocide of the 20th Century. As the hideous history collides with their good intention it creates an alchemy that makes the action feel very close to home.

The political blends with the personal in Drury’s play, the full title of which is We Are Proud To Present A Presentation About The Herero Of Namibia, Formerly Known As Southwest Africa, From The German Sudwestafrika, Between The Years 1884 – 1915.

When it debut in the US, it was named among New York Magazine’s Top 10 Theater Picks of 2012.
