Simon Stephens’s new play Wastwater is set on the edges of Heathrow Airport and offers a snapshot of three different couples who make a choice that will define the fallout of their future.

Wastwater writer Stephens last had his work performed at the Royal Court when Motortown was staged at the Sloane Square venue in 2006. His previous Royal Court offereings include Country Music, Herons and Bluebird. Elsewhere his credits include Punk Rock, Pornography, Harper Regan and On The Shore Of The Wide World.
Wastwater teams Stephens with director Katie Mitchell for the first time. Mitchell’s previous work includes The City, After Dido, Pains Of Youth, Three Sisters and The Seagull.
Wastwater is a co-production between the Royal Court and the Wiener Festwochen (Vienna).
