Following rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2006, Waiting For Romeo, a razor sharp black comedy on coping with singledom under fire, receives a London premiere.

In a city under siege, Talya, trapped in her flat with her self-help library, is convinced Mr Right is still out there. Raneen, her sister, is sure it is only Mr Kill, Bomb and Maim. When a tall dark stranger mysteriously appears in the apartment, is he the man of Talya’s dreams or the stuff of Raneen’s worst nightmares? Waiting For Romeo is a play about the dangers of living in the imagination and ignoring the real world outside.

Waiting For Romeo playwright Sarah Grochala won the first Protect the Human Playwriting Competition, run by iceandfire and Amnesty International, in 2007 for S-27. The play was also shortlisted for The King’s Cross Award 2007 and will be produced at the Finborough theatre in June 2009.
