A special event on the main stage of the Royal Opera House, Voices Of The Future provides a great focus for celebrating and sharing in the sheer joy of singing.

Voices of the Future is a concert performance that brings together a cast of hundreds of school students and adults, with many more involved behind the scenes. The centrepiece will be On The Rim Of The World, a new work by Orlando Gough, Associate Composer of the Royal Opera House, which will be performed by a cast of 200 Primary School children, 80 adults and 20 orchestral players from the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. Complementing this are a short work produced by students who have worked with English Touring Opera, and a song specially written for the occasion by Howard Goodall that promises to have the whole auditorium filled with singing like never before!

As part of Voices Of The Future, the main-stage performances will be preceded by demonstrations and workshops – free to ticket holders – in spaces around the Royal Opera House, again celebrating the human voice and young people’s singing.
