The hit stage adaptation of the Booker Prize-winning novel Vernon God Little returns to the Young Vic.
Vernon’s best friend has just mown down his school class Columbine-style and then shot himself. Everyone is looking for someone to blame and they are pointing the finger at Vernon!
Hapless, cynical and gloriously unlucky, Vernon makes a desperate escape to Mexico. As the cowboy music starts to play, the absurdities of life just keep on coming…
Vernon God Little first played at the Young Vic in 2007, when Colin Morgan, best known as TV’s Merlin, played Vernon.
Rufus Norris, who directs Vernon God Little, won the 2004 Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Newcomer for his production of Afore Night Come at the Young Vic. He has since directed Tintin, Sleeping Beauty, Peribanez, Festen, Death And The King’s Horsemen and Cabaret on the London stage.
