Up Down Boy is an honest and uplifting play about the extraordinary life of a boy with Down’s syndrome and the mother who raised him.

Nathan Bessell plays the lead character, drawing on his own life experiences to tell the tale of Matty as he is about to leave for college. His mother won’t miss the slamming doors and phone bills, but Matty is not an ordinary teenager and will she be able to cope without him?
