Shakespeare’s Globe presents the world premiere of Under The Black Flag: the early life, adventures and pyracies of the famous Long John Silver before he lost his leg.

With King Charles dead, Oliver Cromwell is head of the Commonwealth and radical groups are not welcome; instead they take to the seas. Chief among these rabble-rousers is John Silver, who plies his violent trade along the Barbary Coast while dodging the grasping hand of his pursuer Captain Mission.

Under The Black Flag is set around the historical pirate republic of Rabat, and, while telling its tale of adventure on the high seas, exposes the class hatreds and religious hypocrisy of the 17th century.

The production features bare flesh and filthy language.
