U Fest is a brand new arts festival for young people with a host of interactive displays and activities.
Ideal for theatregoers aged 8 to 108, U Fest offers performances and participatory events from the following companies: So And So Circus, which presents a section of its show The Hot Dots; English Pocket Opera Company, which deconstructs the art form for those who believe it isn’t for them; NITROvox, a group of singers from the worlds of opera, musicals, soul and gospel; Kompany Malakhi, which fuses rap, physical and forum theatre to create witty tales of modern life; Jeanefer Jean Charles and Leon Hazelwood, who take audience back to a time when the Lindy Hop dance was all the rage; Frantic Assembly, which reveals the methods used to create physical theatre; Sass Hoory, which presents rhythm workshop Tap Your Feet; British-Asian clarinettist Aru Ghosh, who takes us on a tour of all things East and West; stage fighting experts RC-Annie with a demonstration of swashbuckling techniques.
