Caryl Churchill’s seminal play about female success, Top Girls transfers to London after an acclaimed run in Chichester.

Top Girls is set in Thatcher’s England, where hard-nosed, go-getting businesswoman Marlene is hosting a dinner party to celebrate her promotion to MD of the Top Girls Employment Agency. Her guests, all powerful women from myth and history, make for an extraordinary gathering.

The cast of Top Girls is led by Suranne Jones, who plays Marlene. Jones was most recently seen playing DC Bailey in ITV detective series Scott And Bailey. Her other screen credits include Coronation Street, Five Days and Single Father, while her London stage credits include A Few Good Men at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Jones is joined in the Top Girls cast by Stella Gonet, best known for TV’s The House Of Elliot and Holby City, and Catherine McCormack, whose films include Braveheart and 28 Weeks Later.

Top Girls writer Caryl Churchill is one of the world’s finest living playwrights, with other pieces including Cloud Nine, Serious Money, Far Away and A Number.
