Following last year’s critically acclaimed season, the masterful Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg return to the West End with their brilliant reinvention of Chekhov’s Three Sisters.

This masterpiece of a play is brilliantly reinvented by the internationally renowned company, telling the tragicomic story of the Prozorov sisters as they contend with their disillusioned lives in a provincial Russian town.

The esteemed theatre director Lev Dodin directs this radiant, complex play, in a production resonant with rich insight into Chekhov’s eloquent understanding of resignation, longing, and love.

Maly Drama Theatre of St. Petersburg last performed in the West End at Theatre Royal Haymarket last year, winning critical acclaim for their interpretations of Uncle Vanya and Life & Fate.

The company is well-known as being one of the greatest in the world. They became the first international company to win an Olivier Award in 1989 for Stars In The Morning Sky, and have won numerous international awards including state prizes of Russian and the USSR and Golden Mask Awards. Their Artistic Director of 35 years, Dodin won the European Theatre Award in 2000.
