Hold on to your biscuit tin, David Wood’s Olivier Award nominated production of The Tiger Who Came To Tea returns for a festive season at the Lyric Theatre.
Based on Judith Kerr’s much-loved picture book, The Tiger Who Came To Tea follows Sophie and her mother as their afternoon is interrupted by a knock at the door from a tea-guzzling tiger.
Suitable for ages three and older, Wood’s hugely popular stage adaptation of the classic tale, which was nominated for the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment & Family in 2012, is packed full of magic, singalong songs and clumsy chaos.
Undisputedly the leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children, Wood has become renowned for his adaptations of children’s classics including Spot’s Birthday Party, Tom’s Midnight Garden and The Witches. In 2013 he won the award for Best Entertainment & Family at the Olivier Awards with MasterCard for his adaptation of Michelle Magorian’s war novel Goodnight Mister Tom.
