Tony Award-winning musical The Secret Garden returns to the West End stage this summer for a six-week season in this specially adapted youth version of the classic Frances Hodgson Burnett novel.

Directed by Rupert Hands, the show has been adapted to 75 minutes and crafted to be performed by 21 different teams of child and adult actors, offering over 300 youngsters the opportunity to star on stage.

The Secret Garden tells the story of 10-year-old Mary Lennox, who, having been tragically orphaned while living in India, returns to Yorkshire, England, to live with her embittered and secluded uncle Archibald.

But a chance encounter with the chambermaid Martha reveals the presence of a secret garden which belonged to her aunt Lily before she died, and as Mary seeks it out, her journey introduces her to a multitude of other characters including her family, her uncle’s staff, and a spirited robin who seems to be trying to talk to her.

A beautiful tale of forgiveness, hope and rejuvenation in the face of cruel circumstances, The Secret Garden features music by Lucy Simon and a book and lyrics by Marsha Norman.
