The double bill first created to mark the 100th anniversary of Stravinsky’s masterpiece returns to Sadler’s Wells for a second year.
The two pieces contrast to reflect the composer’s score. The Rite Of Spring is dark, shocking, violent and sexual, as age is sacrificed and mother earth is worshipped. Petrushka is white, bright and light as folk dances and warmer days are conjured.
The double bill is performed by a 13-strong cast and is accompanied by celebrated concert pianists Lidija and Sanja Bizjak.
Please note, this show contains nudity and themes of a sexual nature.
