Oscar Wilde's ever-popular comedy of manners in which two wooing men assume alter egos depending on their company.
Aristocratic Londoner Algernon falls in love with Cecily Cardew, the ward of Jack Worthing, who is himself in love with Algernon's cousin Gwendolen. But both Gwendolen and Cecily have fallen for Ernest. Interfering aunt Lady Bracknell, played by Penelope Keith, adds to the air of confusion, while Wilde's dialogue is as witty as when it was first performed a over century ago.
