The Golden Dragon is a funny and theatrical fable of modern life and migration, whisking you from your local takeaway to East Asia and back, revealing what really goes into that bowl of spicy soup.

Five actors play a huge cast of characters: a Chinese migrant with toothache, Thai-Chinese-Vietnamese cooks, the man from the shop next door, two air stewardesses plus a cricket and some ants, in a deconstructed soap opera that moves everywhere and nowhere.

Olivier Award-winning Actors Touring Company presents the UK premiere of Germany’s most successful new play in Ramin Gray’s inaugural production as artistic director. Roland Schimmelpfennig’s previous plays include Push Up, The Woman Before (Royal Court) and Arabian Night (ATC).
