Damian Lewis makes an eagerly anticipated return to the West End stage in Edward Albee’s black comedy about a family in crisis.
Darkly comic and at times disturbing, The Goat, Or Who Is Sylvia? centres on the consequences of an improbable and impossible love affair by the father of a family, which tears apart a couple and their teenage son.
Last seen on the London stage in David Mamet’s American Buffalo in 2015, stage and screen star Lewis returns to play central character Martin, leading Albee’s characteristically witty comedy of familial relationships in freefall at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
Widely regarded as Albee’s late masterpiece, the show’s revival is directed by the multi award-winning Ian Rickson, whose previous credits include the acclaimed Evening At The Talk House, Jerusalem and Betrayal.
