Kenneth Cranham and Claire Skinner reprise their roles in Florian Zeller’s mesmorising The Father as it transfers to the Wyndham’s Theatre for an eight-week season.
The Molière Award-winning play, which is translated by Christopher Hampton, tells the story of 80-year-old Andre, a former tap dancer living with his daughter Anne and her husband Antoine, or was he an engineer whose daughter lives in London with her new lover Pierre? Still wearing his pyjamas and unable to find his watch, Andre begins to wonder if he’s losing control.
The Father had its first London outing at the Tricycle Theatre in May following a successful run at the Theatre Royal Bath the previous autumn.
