Acclaimed playwright Lucy Kirkwood’s gripping new drama, The Children, arrives at the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs, telling the story of two retired nuclear scientists watching the world self-destruct.

Sitting in an isolated cottage by the sea, the duo look on as the world around them crumbles.

They plan to live forever on yogurt and yoga – until an old friend arrives with a frightening request.

Directed by James Macdonald, who recently directed Caryl Churchill’s Escaped Alone at the Sloane Square venue, The Children promises to be unmissable.
