The Attraction is a powerful story of life, love and loss. Set in a thriving gypsy community filled with legend and song, we follow dedicated mother Maya, her young son Max and the great Gypsy King Hal, the man she is to marry. Their blissful existence is suddenly shattered as tragedy turns love to guilt and respect to revenge. The survival of the entire community hangs in the balance and with it their hope for the future.
This is a modern opera of and for ordinary people, portrayed through the music and dance central to this global community’s rich culture.
There are pre-show talks on 25 March and 1 April exploring the themes and elements of The Attraction.
