The Armature Of The Absolute celebrates the groundbreaking ideas and life of French writer Alfred Jarry, creator of one of literature’s most outrageous characters, the murderous King Ubu.

The Armature Of The Absolute’s performers combine eccentric puppetry with human interaction, taking the audience on an anarchic journey through Jarry’s transient world, after his death. Through the mask of Jarry, the audience sees beautifully disturbing images reminiscent of David Lynch’s Eraserhead and Goya’s hellish portraits.

The Armature Of The Absolute is a chamber of wonders, an adult fantasy land with an organic, circuit-bending soundtrack; shocking, moving and horrifying, but an experience that will stay with audiences for some time.

The Armature Of The Absolute plays at the Barbican Pit as part of the London International Mime Festival 2009, and is suitable for theatregoers aged 14 and older.
