Néfés resulted from Pina Bausch’s travels to Turkey. It features a simple set, allowing a focus on key images – the flowing manes of hair the women toss recklessly, a pond of water and the spectacular choreographic video projection. The piece climaxes in a moment of outstanding beauty with the whole company coming on stage.
Premiere 21 March 2003 and now performed at Sadler’s Wells as part of London 2012 Festival.
