American Ballet Theatre performs one of the world’s most loved ballets, Swan Lake.

With a place firmly at the top of the ballet canon, Swan Lake tells the classic story of Princess Odette who is turned into a swan by the evil magician Rothbart.

Swan Lake has been revised and performed countless times around the world but this American Ballet Theatre production is based on the definitive Petipa and Ivanov production which was originally presented at the Mariinsky Theatre in 1895.

Formed in 1939, American Ballet Theatre has long been recognised as one of the world’s top dance companies. It tours the United States annually, performs for more than 600,000 people each year and has toured to over 40 countries around the world. Its repertoire includes all of the great full-length 19th century ballets alongside contemporary masterpieces.   

Set to Tchaikovsky’s magnificent score, and featuring lavish costumes and sets, American Ballet Theatre’s spectacular Swan Lake has captured the hearts and minds of audiences worldwide.
