Tim Pigott-Smith stars in the world premiere of Larry Belling’s Stroke Of Luck, a family drama exploring greed and guilt, and how to reunite families that have been driven apart.
The play tells the story of widower Lester Riley, an invalid who has suffered a premature stroke. When he announces to his three estranged middle-aged children that he is getting married to a young, sexy Japanese nurse, they are shocked to discover that he has a stash of money that he has saved from his secret life as a TV and radio repairman for a Long Island mob family. To prevent the nurse taking their inheritance, the children must stop the marriage. But Lester has a few tricks of his own up his sleeve.
Directed by Kate Golledge, the cast also includes Andrew Langtree, Kirsty Malpass, Jon Glover, Morgan Deare, Julia Sandiford, Pamela Miles and Fergal McElherron.
