Street Scene is set in a brownstone tenement building over a long, hot summer’s day and night. Kurt Weill’s Tony-winning score combines show tunes, arias, jazz and blues in a musical melting pot that captures the diversity of working class New York in 1947.

This production of Street Scene was first seen at the Young Vic in 2008, going on to win the Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Musical. It features an 80-strong ensemble, a local community chorus of young people and a chamber orchestra of 31.

Street Scene’s director John Fulljames has previously directed community productions of The Human Comedy, Tobias And The Angel and The Enchanted Pig.
