Jacques Brel’s career as a singer-songwriter developed once he moved to Paris in the early 50’s. He soon established himself as a leading French troubadour with songs such as Ne Me Quitte Pas and Marieke. Brel once said “I write songs as other men tie knots in their handkerchiefs – to remind myself”.
Peter Straker first attracted attention when he starred in the musical Hair. He has since then appeared in numerous West End musicals including Tommy and Phantom of the Opera.
