Amanda Holden, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Nicola Stephenson and Natalie Casey lead the cast of Richard Harris’ award-winning comedy Stepping Out.
Transferring to the Vaudeville Theatre following a tour of the UK, Stepping Out is directed by the acclaimed director Maria Friedman, and tells the story of seven women – and one man – who take a weekly dance class to tap away their troubles.
Initially all thumbs and left feet, the group slowly get to grips with the basics while their stories are revealed, from perfectionist Vera to mouthy Maxine, uptight Andy to bubbly Sylvia, shy Dorothy to eager Lynne, and cheerful Rose to Geoffrey. The dry Mrs Fraser accompanies them on from behind the piano, while the ever-patient Mavis spurs them on, as they seek to participate in a charity gala.
Wonderfully funny and heart-warming, the play first premiered in the West End in 1984, enjoying extended award-winning runs both in London and on Broadway. A musical and film adaptation soon followed, with the tale beloved by audiences on both sides of the atlantic.
With an all-star cast and celebrated story, Stepping Out is sure to have audiences tapping all the way home from the Vaudeville Theatre. Book today!
