The multiple Tony Award-winning production of South Pacific stops off at the New Wimbledon as part of a nationwide tour, following its success at the Barbican.
Set during World War II, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific is a sweeping romantic story of two couples, threatened by the realities of war.
Considered to be among the finest musicals ever written, its memorable score includes Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair and There Is Nothin’ Like A Dame.
This production of South Pacific, which won seven Tony Awards and sold out on Broadway for two years, was described by the New York Times as “Rapturous and revelatory”, while the Washington Post called it “The best Rodgers and Hammerstein in a generation.”
The stellar cast includes both Broadway and West End stars as well as interntional opera star Paulo Szot.
