John Miller and Pete Brooks’ new musical inspired by the music, life and times of musicians Ike and Tina Turner arrives in the West End following its premiere at Hackney Empire earlier this year.
Soul Sister charts legendary singer Tina Turner’s rise to fame and her fated relationship with her musical partner and husband Ike.
Starring Emi Wokoma and Chris Tummings as the famously destructive couple, Soul Sister features the classic songs What’s Love Got To Do With It, Proud Mary, Private Dancer, River Deep Mountain High and, of course, the iconic Simply The Best.
Wokoma takes on the role of the great singer having previously appeared in Hairspray at the Shaftesbury theatre, Little Shop Of Horrors at the Birmingham Repertory theatre and Porgy and Bess at the Savoy theatre.
Playing the role of Ike, Tummings has previously been seen in The Harder They Come at the Theatre Royal Stratford East and Fabulation at the Tricycle theatre.
