Following a one-off concert performance last year, Stiles and Drewe’s new musical Soho Cinders receives its world premiere in London.
Offering a contemporary and satirical take on the tale of Cinderella, Soho Cinders is a fun and edgy musical celebrating the capital’s most colourful district.
When impoverished student Robbie becomes romantically involved with the already engaged Mayoral candidate James Prince, his lap-dancing stepsisters become the least of his worries as they are forced to fight for their own fairytale ending.
Starring Olivier Award-winning Jenna Russell, Love Story’s Michael Xavier and the voice of presenter and actor Stephen Fry, Soho Cinders is the latest musical to come from the writing partnership of George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, whose 1999 show Honk! won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
Soho Cinders is directed by Jonathan Butterell whose previous credits include Into The Woods at the Donmar Warehouse and Assassins and Fiddler On The Roof on Broadway.
