Caught in the cross-fire of history, a peasant family strives to make a life. The father believes that if he were only left in peace he could build a heaven for his family on the land where they live. But as the dangerous world outside creeps ever further into his home the confrontations, though terrifying, offer the children glimpses of another life, a life beyond their father’s incromprehensible obsession with his worthless land.
