The Royal Albert Hall’s first fully-staged musical is a tale of the American Deep South spanning nearly fifty years. The romantic tale focuses on the life of the Hawks family, their troupe of actors, and life on the Cotton Blossom floating theatre. It evoke the flamboyance and passion of the period, but also the racism and poverty.
Francesca Zambello’s production features a stunning set by Peter J Davidson, depicting the spectacle of the show boat itself, the surroundings of the Mississippi and the music halls of Chicago.
Live music will be provided by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
