Royal Court Young Writers Programme graduate E.V. Crowe returns to the Royal Court with Shoe Lady. Her previous plays include The Sewing Group, Hero and Kin.
Viv has lost a shoe. They’re her work shoes, her weekend shoes, her only pair of shoes, and she doesn’t know what to do.
The curtains are falling, her foot is bleeding, and she’s starting to feel a little overwhelmed.
But all will be well in the world once she finds that missing shoe.
“We’ve got no money but we’re still in Waitrose twice a day.
Because going to Tesco just makes life not even worth living.”
This production is directed by Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone, whose recent productions include On Bear Ridge at the Royal Court Theatre and short film co-produced by Royal Court and the Financial Times.
