A dark comedy exploring the woes of female adolescence against a backdrop of macho jealousies.
A sweaty summer night in Long Island. Kai is turning pirouettes, Sabrina is rolling a blunt and their mother Cali is getting glamorous for a date. The party starts when all three of Cali’s suitors turn up – ex-husband Louie, boyfriend Bobby and the very quirky Simon. With cocktails and conversation flowing a little too freely, the lively party quickly descends into a drunken, smoke-filled haze that exposes each character’s fears and vulnerability.
This is the UK premiere of Rose Martula’s play.
