Freddie Fox and Lily James star in Shakespeare’s classic love story Romeo And Juliet as part of the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company’s season at the Garrick Theatre.
Fox (replacing Game Of Thrones’ Richard Madden, following his injury) and Downton Abbey star James take on the title roles in the Bard’s heart-breaking tale of forbidden love.
Derek Jacobi plays Mercutio, while Meera Syal plays The Nurse.
Directed by Branagh, Romeo And Juliet plays as part of a star-studded season that also includes The Winter’s Tale, Harlequinade / All Oh Her Own, Red Velvet, The Painkiller and The Entertainer. Read more about it here.
Please note that Freddie Fox will play the role of Romeo for all remaining performances, with Richard Madden not due to return to the company before the production completes its run.
Encore cinema screenings of Romeo And Juliet, in which Richard Madden plays Romeo, are now playing in cinemas across the UK and internationally.
