After a successful New York debut in the summer, Richard Alston Dance Company return to Sadler’s Wells with a programme of three pieces inspired by music rich in diverse cultures.

A reworking of Fever sees the music of Monteverdi, with all the sensuality and warmth of Italy, as the inspiration for luxuriant dance piece.

Gypsy Mixture takes its basis from Romanian and Macedonian gypsies, but remixes them with help from DJs as far flung as South America, to produce an extraordinary mix of tradition and contemporary culture.

Such Longing, Alston’s new collaboration with pianist Jason Ridgway, is set to Chopin’s Nocturnes and Etudes.
