Merce Cunningham, master of improvisation, devised his revolutionary Event format to combine dance, music and design in a way that was unique to each location and performance.

In the centenary year of Cunningham’s birth, Rambert form their own Event, featuring extracts from different Cunningham works, remixed with music composed and performed live by Radiohead’s Philip Selway, and designs based on the Cage series of paintings by the German contemporary artist Gerhard Richter.

Arrive early for pop-up performances and installations in the foyer, illuminating Cunningham’s radical approach to dance. From 6.45pm (1.45pm matinee).
