Based on the chilling true stories of two Iranian murderers, A Journey North resembles a cool, detached police investigation. Beneath television screens projecting their own faces, four actors sit back to back and address the audience from their own isolated spaces, offering interwoven accounts from the two murderers and two relatives of the victims.

Quartet asks the question: What is it that makes an ordinary person become a murderer?
