Geppetto, an elderly wood carver, sets to work making a puppet. Unexpectedly, the old man soon finds that has gained a son in the process; a son who steals his heart and then goes missing… Created by master puppet maker and director Peter O’Rourke (Alice In Wonderland, The Giraffe And The Pelly And Me, The Mouse Queen), Little Angel brings this magical story by Carlo Collodi to life for the first time.
Set in 19th century Tuscany, this action-packed production includes many of Collodi’s outlandish creations: including the enigmatic and shape-shifting blue fairy, Pierrot and a goggle-eyed showman whose bark is worse than his bite. Four multi-tasking performers enact this well-loved classic story with puppets and masks used in unusual combinations, inventive scenography, a darkly witty script and evocative music.
Suitable for children over the age of 5 and adults. Please note babies and children under 5 will not be admitted. There are no Baby Friendly shows for this production.
