Druid theatre company’s production of Enda Walsh’s play Penelope comes to the Hampstead theatre.
An original interpretation of the story of Penelope and her suitors from Homer’s Odyssey, Walsh’s dark comedy explores just how far men will go to win a woman’s heart when their ultimate salvation is at stake. Walsh introduces us to four ridiculous men who play for Penelope’s unwinnable love while facing their inevitable deaths.
Penelope writer Walsh is the award-winning Irish playwright whose plays include Disco Pigs, Chatroom and The Walworth Farce, which was also produced by Druid and came to the National Theatre.
