John Tomlinson and Willard W White lead the cast of Wagner’s final opera.

Parsifal battles temptation to restore the power of the order of knights who guard the Holy Grail. His adversary is the magician Klingsor, aided by the lost woman Kundry, who is saved by Parsifal, just as Klingsor is destroyed by him.

The opera’s score, conducted by leading Wagner conductor Bernard Haitink, mixes powerful action with a sense of poise and spirituality.
