Vene Vidi theatre company returns to Lauderdale House with Shakespeare’s tragic love story.
Othello, General and Moor of Venice, elopes with a beautifully young Venetian lady, Desdemona, against her father’s wishes. A looming war in Cyprus threatens the lovers from the outset, leading them across the Mediterranean Sea with the rest of Othello’s fleet.
As does Iago, one of Shakespeare’s greatest villains, a man whose false smile portrays honesty but whose secret ambition and jealousy will destroy the lovers.
Following last year’s production of Much Ado About Nothing, Vene Vidi theatre company stages Othello on the Tea Lawn at Lauderdale House in Highgate.
