The Young Vic teams up with dynamic new venue The Print Room to stage this compelling double bill of short Pinter plays, One For The Road / Victoria Station.
One For The Road is a captivating study of the horror of individual lives at the mercy of a cruel dictatorship. Each member of a family is held in isolation in their own room, prisoners of a brutal government. Husband, wife and seven-year-old son are interrogated in turn, with nothing to cling on to but their innocence.
Victoria Station is an unsettling comic vignette featuring a minicab controller in a rage with one of his drivers. The controller is outraged that his orders are being ignored, but the driver is distracted by something mysterious and far more worrying.
New Notting Hill venue the Print Room was founded by Anda Winters and Lucy Bailey in September 2010 with the aim of staging both exciting, rarely performed pieces by recognized writers and working with emerging theatrical talent.
